Romantic & CInematic | An Aldie Mansion Engagement Session
Aldie Mansion is a STUNNING wedding venue and engagement session location nestled in the heart of Doylestown, PA. Built in 1927, the historic English-country estate is surrounded by gorgeous flowering gardens, tall pines and cedars, and elegant terraces.
The mansion is also partnered with the Heritage Conservancy in Doylestown, which protects and maintains more than 16,000 acres of open space, farmland, wildlife habitat, and important watershed areas throughout Bucks and surrounding counties.
The Heritage Conservancy plants a tree in one of its Nature Preserves for every couple that celebrates their wedding at Aldie Mansion!
When Dragana, Graham, and I were planning their engagement session, we originally planned to meet at a local park in early May to capture the flowering trees and golden hour light. But when the forecast called for afternoon thunderstorms, we needed to change plans quick! I reached out to the team at Aldie to inquire about a morning engagement session at the Mansion. It seemed like the perfect spot to capture both the delicate beauty of spring and have a stunning indoor location in case of rain. The coordinator agreed, and so our location was set! Since D&G will be getting married at Aldie Mansion, we were welcome to use the location for their engagement photos free of charge! Suddenly our unexpected change of plans was starting to feel like a blessing in disguise.
Dragana & Graham wanted photos that felt romantic and authentic while also incorporating the beauty of spring. They’re planning an April wedding at the mansion and wanted to capture a similar feel with their engagement photos as a foreshadowing of what’s to come. We met on the first weekend of May, just as the greens came started really showing off and the flowers eloquently bloomed.
Photographing their connection at Aldie Mansion felt like stepping into timeless love story told across generations
The inside of Aldie Mansion is just as stunning as the gardens. From the hand-carved staircase, gothic arched doorways, wood-paneled library, and a two-story bank of leaded glass windows in the Great Hall make you feel like the main character in a romance novel.
I can’t wait to return to the venue next spring to document their wedding day!
